For those of you who have emailed us about the current status of the Taper Street School T-Mobile Cell Tower,
it is currently up and running with no plans of moving it a few blocks away to a commercially zoned area.
We did succeed in halting two other major cell towers inside R1 zoned neighborhoods from being built.
Currently we know of no other major cell sites within R1 zoned areas which are in the planning stages.
We will be updating the website with new information while still retaining the data we have collected, like the wonderful RF Radiation Study.
That's the latest!

As the mobile phone companies like T-Mobile and AT&T try to force
their way into R1 neighborhoods with their unlimited amounts of $money$ and resources, we working San Pedro folks
with limited $funds$ and time who live within spitting distance of their cell towers are not giving up!
We have one expert who is a professional in the field who bravely helped us out and gave us all some "REAL" facts
about the RF Radiation Levels from the Westmont Cell Tower when compared to the standards of countries like Austria,
China, Italy, Russia, (
because he felt compelled to tell us all the truth about it without asking for a dime.
T-Mobile and AT&T can hire whichever "independent expert" they want to who will tell you what T-Mobile and AT&T want
you to believe. To this day T-Mobile will NOT give the "real" output figures and numbers of the Westmont Cell Tower!
So why is that? And who monitors these cell towers anyway? Answer - NO ONE!
Who do you trust to keep you safe, the T-Mobile's and AT&T's who are in this to make as much money as possible?
Who do you trust with your children's safety and health? T-Mobile? AT&T?
You can't "turn off" a Cell Tower... they are ON 24/7 and NO ONE IS MONITORING... who do you trust?

MetroPCS seems to have backed down from putting a cell tower next to Taper Avenue School!
But we all will keep an eye out... since our City government and City Attorney are reluctant to regulate the placement of
Cell Towers in Los Angeles.

Happy New Year! This year brings with it a new and more determined
coalition of neighbors, parents, the school board, the councilwoman's office and all the hundreds of San Pedro
neighbors who have expressed their support for us, all united AGAINST T-Mobile and their Westmont/Taper cell tower!
December 31, 2009 -
Yesterday an attempt by DWP and T-Mobile was made to connect electrical power
to the Westmont/Taper T-Mobile Cell Tower. The attempt was stopped by parents and residents who protested at the cell tower.
The T-Mobile representative threatened arrest and legal action against those in attendance. T-Mobile is using scare tactics
to force this cell tower down our throats during the holiday season!
Although the attempt was stopped by parents and residents, DWP, taking a page from the T-Mobile
playbook, (cowardly, underhanded & sneaky), came in the still of the night and connected the power
to the cell tower.
Those "Joint Pole Association" members (DWP and T-Mobile) got to stick together. What back door dealings are taking
place here? Maybe a Grand Jury investigation of DWP and T-Mobile cell tower placement practices is called for so
we citizens can find out what's really happenning behind closed doors!

Los Angeles Unified School District School Board approves Dr.
Richard Vladovic's motion in condemnation of T-Mobile’s construction of a cell phone tower adjacent to
Taper Avenue Elementary School. This motion urges T-Mobile to remove the cell phone tower to avoid serious
damage to it's brand in the District and the community at large.
T-Mobile is a German owned company. In Germany they could not have put up a cell tower so close to a school, but they
seem to have no problem doing so right here in San Pedro!

T-Mobile strikes again! A proposed "Macro" Cell Tower
immediately adjacent to a Preschool and homes in Torrance again shows us all that T-Mobile DOES NOT CARE.
This reaffirms our belief that a massive push is under way to erect as many "Macro" Cell Towers within
residential neighborhoods as possible. This will set a precedent to pave the way for MANY MORE to
come. Cell companies like T-Mobile that are now actively pursuing this agenda must be called on the carpet and confronted in
every possible way. Obviously T-Mobile doesn't care about bad publicity so let's give them as much as we can!
Standing together we CAN change things, doing nothing will get us nothing, (except cell towers next to our homes and schools).
I wonder how many "Macro" Cell sites are next to the T-Mobile CEO's house... I can assure you that there are NONE.

The PROTEST against T-Mobile on Sunday went very well! We had
110 people by 12 noon. Mrs. Vladovic was there along with staff from Dr. Vladovic's office as well as the
presidents of the Homeowners Associations and the Northwest Neighborhood Council. Lots of parents and quite
a few seniors. We had previously notified the Harbor LAPD watch commander and even they, (squad cars), cruised
by and good-naturedly showed their support. Reporters from Channel 5 News and the LA Times were there, as well as
a reporter from an Orange County newspaper. We had LOTS of support from cars passing by honking their horns.
Here are video and pictures of the PROTEST against T-Mobile's Cell Tower!

Also today T-Mobile installed the 6 antennas for their Macro Cell Tower at
Western and Dodson Ave (right before 19th Street). This makes THREE Macro Cell Towers in San Pedro being installed by
T-Mobile that we know of! This definitely can be viewed by San Pedro residents as an all out attempt by T-Mobile to set a precedent with
the installation of "Macro" Cell Towers within our residential R1 neighborhoods.

This Sunday, November 22, at 11:00AM, there will be a public PROTEST

T-Mobile using unmarked white work trucks have put up a 6 Antenna Macro Cell Tower at Westmont and Taper Ave
right across the street from Taper Avenue School's playground and within 5ft of neighborhood backyards!
Notification from T-Mobile and the City's Bureau of Engineering were for an "AGF" (Above Ground Facility),
no mention of a 6 antenna cell tower mounted
on a telephone pole hanging over neighborhood backyards and across the street from a school!
Neighbors and parents of Taper Avenue School were in shock!
Today there was a meeting with Board District 7 Member Dr. Richard Vladovic, representatives from Councilwoman Janice Hahn's
office and concerned neighbors and parents of Taper Avenue School.
Dr. Richard Vladovic and Councilwoman Janice Hahn made it clear that they stand behind the neighborhood and the parents'
efforts to REMOVE T-Mobile's cell tower.
Representatives from the Northwest San Pedro Neighborhood Council were also present and showed great support.
Every effort shall
be made to put pressure on T-Mobile to take it DOWN! Board Member Dr. Richard Vladovic said he would put a motion up
before the LAUSD School Board to STOP DOING BUSINESS WITH T-MOBILE!
This is one of THREE Macro sites T-Mobile is PUSHING to have built in or adjacent to R1 residential neighborhoods.
T-Mobile seems to be trying to set a precedent here and at the other sites (Bynner Drive and Western Ave and Western and
19th Street).
They MUST be stopped NOW!
*** Tonight the Northwest Neighborhood Council voted unanimously to support the motion opposing the proposed T-Mobile cell tower at Bynner and Western!
They also voted unanimously to support the motion opposing the proposed T-Mobile cell tower at Westmont and Taper Avenue! ***
Here is a picture from Ken Kato's backyard who lives off of Westmont and Taper Ave where T-Mobile has ALREADY put up
the cell tower. T-Mobile did not disclose to him, his neighbors or Taper Avenue School that they were installing
a 6 antenna cell tower, just an "AGF"! Do YOU know what an "AGF" is?
Here is T-Mobile's EIGHT antenna Macro Cell Tower planned for Bynner Drive and Western Ave.
